Ramy is an Associate in our Legal Department, specialising in the execution and enforcement of judgments, with a keen focus on ensuring clients navigate the complexities of post-judgment processes.

With over several years of experience, he expertly guides clients through the intricate policies and procedures of UAE courts, particularly in the execution of UAE, GCC, and international judgments. His vast expertise extends to assisting clients in recovering debts, enforcing arbitration awards, and securing financial redress, ensuring timely and effective results as ordered by the courts. Ramy is particularly skilled in handling enforcement proceedings involving freezing orders, asset identification, and seizure, as well as managing complex cross-border enforcement matters.

Ramy possesses an in-depth understanding of the legal processes involved in representation before police stations, the Public Prosecution, and all levels of UAE courts. He assists clients from a broad range of sectors, including banking, finance, manufacturing, and construction, in executing local and foreign judgments. His strong relationships with regulatory bodies and deep knowledge of local enforcement laws allow him to deliver efficient and tailored solutions to clients seeking justice and financial recovery.

Experience highlights

  • An international oil and gas company on enforcing an arbitration award through the UAE courts. The award, valued at AED 45 million, was obtained against a subcontractor for breach of contract. We facilitated the enforcement process, securing a freezing injunction on the subcontractor’s assets to ensure compliance with the arbitration decision.
  • A UK head-quartered company on executing a judgment in the UK courts for AED 5 million against a UAE distributor. We filed an application in the Dubai Courts to recognise and enforce the foreign judgment under the UAE's reciprocity principles for foreign judgments and assisted in the court in seizing the UAE distributor’s assets to ensure recovery of the amount for our client.
  • A foreign bank on an enforcement of a foreign judgment before the Dubai courts in relation to the recovery of a significant amount of debt, which included the recovery and sale of assets.
  • A local industrial company on a matter before Dubai Courts to execute a judgment worth AED 8.5 million against a supplier for failure to deliver materials on time. We successfully ensured recovery of the full amount.
  • A local branch of a foreign bank on the execution of an approx. AED 12 million mortgage default judgment. We the courts, we seized the mortgaged property, arranged for its auction, and recovered AED 11 million, helping our client to minimise its losses.
  • Dubai Islamic Bank on the enforcement of mortgage deeds on real estate and movable assets and shares for over AED 500 million in relation to three separate execution cases.
  • A European construction company active in the UAE on the enforcement of a foreign judgment before the Dubai courts in relation to the recovery of AED 5 million + regarding unpaid invoices for construction services rendered.
